How To Choose A Plastic Surgeon
Once you”ve gone through the steps of finding a New Jersey plastic surgeon, how do you choose which surgeon to ultimately choose for your surgery? Here are the steps I suggest you take for choosing the plastic surgeon that’s right for you:
First, make a list of every certified plastic surgeon in your area who you know is qualified to perform your surgery and comes with some sort of recommendation or reference. No matter how long the plastic surgeon has been practicing in New Jersey you still want to make sure he or she has happy patients. Any NJ plastic surgeon should at least be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and belong to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.
After you’ve made that list of plastic surgeons you will probably want to schedule appointments to visit the top five or so. Plan this out if you can. You don”t want to be driving up and down the New Jersey parkway all day rushing from one plastic surgeon appointment to another. Try to schedule your appointments with these plastic surgeons by regions such as North Jersey, Central Jersey and South Jersey.
When you meet with each of these plastic surgeons don”t be afraid to take notes about what they say. Notice if they listen to your concerns. Ask yourself if this plastic surgeon is realistic and honest in setting expectations and mentioning plastic surgery side-effects and discomfort. New Jersey is a very litigious state, so does the plastic surgeon list the risks and possible negative outcomes? You can even find out if the surgeon offers any sort of plastic surgery financing. Other than just notes, listen to your gut to see if you really like and trust the surgeon or not.
After your visits with the many plastic surgeons who work in New Jersey you will probably have your list narrowed down to one or two. Now would be the time to really consider the cost of the plastic surgery, remembering that New Jersey plastic surgeons charge tax on certain cosmetic procedures. If you”re an optimist you can probably make the case that the one time cost is not that important due to the fact that using a plastic surgeon could increase your salary.
Once you”ve considered all your options you may even want to discuss all the pros and cons of working with a specific surgeon with a close friend or relative. When you”ve finally made your decision relax and enjoy the process, knowing that New Jersey plastic surgeons are among the best in the world!
